District football is the highest level of schools football and a great opportunity for players to be recognised as the best in the borough. Tower Hamlets District Football aims to provide high level coaching and competitive opportunities to players, with training and matches running weekly throughout the season. Matches take place on Saturday mornings to run alongside Sunday league and Academy football. Therefore, all boys and girls selected to represent the district can continue to play for their Sunday league team or professional academy side, if they play for one.
Staff from schools in Tower Hamlets can nominate their best players to attend trials for the various district football teams. Parents can also nominate their children for trials but they must attend a school in Tower Hamlets. Players can also be invited to trial by Tower Hamlets District Football staff through performances at borough fixtures and competitions.
Once trials and the selection process have concluded, those selected to represent Tower Hamlets compete against other district teams from across London and the South East. Tower Hamlets District Football has good links with a range of amateur and professional football clubs and helps to provide a pathway for players to continue their footballing career at various different levels.
